Cookie Policy
Effective September 12, 2026. Last updated September 13, 2026.
1. WHAT COOKIES ARE
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and tags. These technologies allow a site to function correctly, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used.
2. CATEGORIES WE USE
Strictly necessary. These make the site work. They support page routing, security, form submission, spam prevention, and your recorded cookie preference. They cannot be switched off through the preference control because the site cannot function without them.
Analytics. These help us understand which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and where they leave. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them.
Functional. These remember choices you make, such as a form value or a display preference. They are set only after you accept them.
Marketing. These would support advertising measurement and audience building. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies and we do not share information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. COOKIE TABLE
| Cookie or technology | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Session and security cookie | Hosting platform, first party | Strictly necessary | Serves pages securely and keeps the site working during your visit. | Session |
| Cookie preference cookie | Illini Notary, first party | Strictly necessary | Remembers the cookie choice you make so that you are not asked again. | 12 months |
No analytics, functional, or marketing technology is in use on this website at this time. This table is updated before any such technology is deployed.
4. YOUR CONTROL
When you first visit the site you are shown a cookie notice with three options: accept all, reject non-essential, and manage preferences. Non-essential cookies are not set until you choose. You may change your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.
You may also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies and blocking future ones. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the site from working.
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal where your browser transmits it, and treat it as a request to reject non-essential cookies and as an opt-out of sale or sharing where that right applies to you.
5. DO NOT TRACK
Browsers may transmit a Do Not Track signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to it. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, but we do honor the Global Privacy Control signal as described above, and non-essential cookies are set only with your consent regardless of either signal.
6. CHANGES AND CONTACT
We update this policy when the technologies on our site change. Questions go to support@illininotary.com.
