For Law Firms

Notary Services for Champaign County Law Firms

An extension of your practice for signings your office cannot easily schedule.

An Extension of Your Own Scheduling Capacity

Most firms do not need notarization explained. What they need is a commissioned notary who is available when the signing has to happen, at the place it has to happen, and who returns the documents in the condition the file requires.

That is the whole of it. Illini Notary functions as an extension of your scheduling capacity rather than as an outside vendor with its own process to accommodate.

Where the Service Is Most Used

  • Signings for people who cannot travel to the office
  • Bedside and care facility signings
  • Remote online notarization for signers located outside Illinois
  • Apostille handling where a firm's file requires a document authenticated for use abroad

Scheduling

  • Direct booking with the firm's staff, without a dispatch layer
  • Standing availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Coverage across 7 counties in central Illinois

How the Engagement Works

  1. 01

    The firm prepares the documents

The documents and the notarial certificates arrive as the firm has prepared them.

  2. 02

The notary completes the notarial act

Identity is confirmed, the act is performed under the Illinois Notary Public Act, and the journal entry is made.

  3. 03

The executed documents return to the firm

Documents are returned by the method the firm specifies, with any exception reported the same day.

Where the Line Sits

Illini Notary and Signing Services is not a law firm. The notary completes the notarial act at the firm's direction. The notary does not select the notarial certificate, does not explain the document to the signer, does not tell the signer what the document does, and does not determine what the document requires. Those decisions belong to the firm, and they stay with the firm.

What the notary does bring is procedural discipline: confirming identity as the Illinois Notary Public Act requires, completing the certificate the firm supplied without alteration, journaling the act, and reporting anything irregular to the firm rather than resolving it independently.
